Jennerjahn Ships First Machine Since Fire

On Thursday, May 10, 2024, Jennerjahn reached a significant milestone as they shipped the first slitter rewinder machine since the fire that destroyed most of their manufacturing facility the day after Christmas.  In just 4 ½ months, the machine was built from the ground up at their temporary manufacturing facility located in Marion, Indiana. Next week, two more machines are scheduled to ship to their respective customers.

Currently, fabricated parts, painting, and roll covering processes remain at the modified portion of Matthews facility which was not damaged by the fire.  Once components are complete in Matthews, Jennerjahn transports them 30 miles to the temporary Marion facility to be assembled.

“There have been some operational and logistical challenges along the way”, says Chris Jennerjahn, President of Jennerjahn Machine, “but the managers and employees have stepped up and have given 100% every day.  We are truly blessed to have such hard-working and dedicated employees.  We feel like the adversity caused by the fire has brought out the best in everyone and has served to further unify us as a Jennerjahn family.”

The fire damaged portion of the facility has been demolished and removed from the property.  Construction to rebuild that portion of the facility is planned to begin by June.  Interior work continues with the old assembly area and the 11,500 sq. ft. expansion with utilities, restrooms, and offices.
