How are Slitter/Rewinder Machines Used for Rolled Landscaping Products?
Many products used by the landscaping and lawn care industry are made from rolls of woven and non-woven fabrics and materials including jute, plastic sheeting, meshes, and biodegradable papers or plastics. Slitter/rewinder machines are used to cut large rolls into more manageable sizes to suit specific applications like weed barriers, row covers, or fencing.
Jennerjahn’s machines use a three-step process of unwinding the larger, master roll of material, slitting it lengthwise into several rolls of the desired width, and rewinding these new rolls around individual cores. Rewind chucks secure the cores between bedrollers that keep them aligned, and the textile, plastic, or paper is cut with a series of razor, score, or shear knives. Ends are securely adhered or tucked onto cores. As the rolls are rewound, a specialized roller applies precise pressure to ensure the correct firmness.
