Jennerjahn Machine: A Legacy of Innovation and a Bright Future

Founded in 1979 by Brian and Ruth Jennerjahn, Jennerjahn Machine started as a small family business with a big vision. Brian’s drafting table was their dining room table, and their garage served as a small machine shop. Together, they overcame challenges and built a company that would become a global leader in the converting industry.

In 1993, their son Chris returned to the family business, and by 2011, he and his wife Kristie purchased the company, transitioning Jennerjahn Machine to its second generation of leadership. Since its inception, Jennerjahn Machine has grown to employ over 50 skilled professionals, including mechanical and electrical engineers, machinists, technicians, and a full administrative and support staff. With installations spanning six continents and 24 countries, Jennerjahn Machine has built a reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative solutions for roll converting and automated packaging.

A Resilient Future: Rebuilding and Moving Forward

On December 26, 2023, a devastating fire destroyed the company’s facility in Matthews, Indiana. However, in just 13 months, Jennerjahn Machine successfully rebuilt and resumed full operations in a brand-new facility. The rebuilding process provided an opportunity to streamline manufacturing workflows, enhance production capabilities, and reinforce the company’s commitment to innovation. A new 24,000-square-foot machine assembly area now allows Jennerjahn to build multiple slitter rewinders simultaneously while integrating advanced robotic packaging systems.

Leadership Changes: A New Era Begins

For several years, Chris and Kristie Jennerjahn had been preparing for the next phase of the company’s leadership, ensuring the right people were in place to maintain and grow Jennerjahn Machine. Despite the unforeseen challenges of the fire, the management team proved their resilience, ensuring uninterrupted customer service, maintaining staff morale, and successfully navigating the company through one of its most difficult periods. With confidence in the company’s future, Jennerjahn Machine is pleased to announce the following leadership appointments:

Roger Vogel – President

Roger Vogel, formerly the company’s Engineering Manager, has been appointed President. With 27 years at Jennerjahn Machine, Roger brings vast technical knowledge, deep customer relationships, and strong leadership skills. His focus will be on new product development, product improvement, expanding the customer base, and further enhancing Jennerjahn Machine’s renowned parts and customer service support systems.

Kris Kimmerling – Vice President

Kris Kimmerling, who has been with Jennerjahn Machine for 19 years, has been appointed Vice President. His experience spans mechanical engineering, finance, IT, and HR, giving him a broad understanding of the company’s operations. Kris is known for his attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and dedication to employees. He will oversee Finance, HR, IT, the Machine Shop, and Assembly departments.

Chris Jennerjahn’s Retirement

With the leadership transition complete, Chris and Kristie Jennerjahn are stepping back from day-to-day operations while retaining ownership of the family’s 45-year-old company. They look forward to traveling, visiting their four adult children, and welcoming their first grandchild in July.
